A Veterinary Journal
A Veterinary Journal is a "vet book" - a diary based on my daily experiences with my many patients and their "owners" and the many stories are based on real life experiences. My vet books are about the daily life of a Scottish Vet and the animals, mostly people's best friends and pets, that make their lives and mine so rich and meaningful.
My first book "A Veterinary Journal" was published in 2002 and sadly went out of print when the publisher went out of business, so we are publishing a bit at a time on the website and hopefully will release it as an ebook eventually.
I have put up a few pages of my originlal book for you to read. I also have a blog where you can continue to read about my Countryside Diary with my experiences as a country vet.
My new book which is called Front End or Back is about to be published - any day now. In my books "Kate McKelvie" takes you through the daily tasks and life of a Scottish country vet in a village called Clayfern. You will just have to Visit Scotland to find "Clayfern", the pictures on the website give it away!.
So I invite you to join Kate in her daily life as a vet and share intimate moments of happyness, and as with every vet, some sad moments.

About Me
I am a Vet working in Scotland. My books are taken from my daily veterinary practice and real life experiences, however I have changed the names of the places, pets and owners to preserve their privacy. The Place name "Clayfern" is made up from childhood memories, I hope you enjoy the stories about Kate McKelvie and Clayfern, her daily experiences with her patients and pet "owners".
