I live in a wonderful area in Scotland, surrounded by beautiful countryside and fantastic scenery. I look over onto the estuary of the largest river in Scotland and live near the village where I have my Veterinary Practice. I love writing about Scotland and sharing with you my experiences as a vet. I also enjoy being an "author". The photographs on this page will give you an idea of where I stay and in my books I call it "Clayfern" and the "River Clay" - I bet you can guess where it really is, so my little secret is out, don't all come at once!. You are of course very welcome to visit Scotland. Scotland - the land of eagles, buzzards, hawks and ospreys.

Websites on ScotlandVisit Scotland's Scottish Highlands for information on the area around Wester Ross including Ullapool, Camusnagaul, Dundonnell, Aultbea and Poolewe. Monimail Tower, Monimail, Fife
Monimail Tower (1578), a residence of the Bishops of St Andrews. The last cleric to reside here was Archbishop Hamilton who allegedly was cured of asthma by the Italian astrologer Cardan who advised him to drink water from a well nearby now known as Cardan's Well. The tower is incorporated into the garden wall of Melville House which was built between 1697 and 1703 by the 1st Earl of Melville to a design by James Smith. Monimail Parish Church (1794-97) has a four-stage Gothic tower built in 1811 by R. Hutchison. To learn more about Scotland's heritage through pictures visit Pictures of Scotland and for a larger image on Monimail Tower. The site is run by one of our local photographers Dave Christopher.
